Fall Sangria is a festive, spiced beverage bursting with the warm and cozy flavors of an autumn day
This Apple Cider Sangria is full of bright apples, pears, and warm spices. Our sangria has sweet and spicy notes, is lightly fruity, and perfect for Fall gatherings or holiday get-togethers.
Just like in our White Sangria recipe, we use a light-bodied crisp white wine to create a well-balanced Fall Sangria.
Ingredients for Fall Sangria
- White Wine - we prefer a Pinot Grigio for this cider. You could also use an unoaked Chardonnay
- Fresh Apple Cider - we use our Homemade Apple Cider, but you can also use fresh store-bought cider
- Grand Marnier - you can also use Brandy
- Whole Cinnamon Sticks
- Apples - we used Honeycrisp apples
- Pear - Bartlett Pears work well
- Orange - you'll need one Naval Orange
- Fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- Orange Club Soda - such as Sanpellegrino Aranciata Orange soda
(See the recipe card at the bottom for exact quantities of each ingredient)

How to make a delicious Apple Cider Fall Sangria
- Cut the apples, pear, and orange into slices. Squeeze juice from one lemon.
- In a large pitcher, add the cinnamon sticks and cut fruit to the bottom of the pitcher.
- Pour in the wine, cider, and Grand Marnier.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours. The ideal time is between 6 and 8 hours, but you can refrigerate for up to 12 hours. We suggest keeping the time under 10 hours to keep the fruit from becoming soft.
- Remove from the refrigerator and stir the Sangria to mix up the fruit and cinnamon with the juices.
- Pour Sangria into individual glasses, adding in the fruits and a cinnamon stick for garnish.
- Serve and Enjoy!

What is Sangria?
This vibrant beverage originated in Portugal and Spain. Originally, sangria was made with red wine, while modern versions are made with white wines, and/or sparkling wines like a Spanish Cava.
Basically, Sangria is a Spanish wine punch containing wine, chopped fruit, citrus, and usually a liqueur. We use our homemade Apple Cider as the sweetener and garnish each glass with a spice, such as a cinnamon stick.
Sangria is chilled for a few hours to allow all the flavors to steep and meld together. Serve this delicious fall beverage over ice (if you like it extra cold) and a splash of orange club soda floating on top.
